Salman Khan is famous bollywood star is the eldest son of celebrated screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan .He has two brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan and two sisters Alvira and Arpita .He was born on 27 December, 1965 with his initial name as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan. His step mom is the famous Bollywood cabaret dancer Helen. He did hi schooling from St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai and from The Scindia School in Gwalior State for a few years.
Film career of Salman Khan Salman made his debut with the film Biwi Ho to Aisi in 1988 where he played a supporting role. His first movie in the lead role was Sooraj Barjatya`s romantic blockbuster `Maine Pyar Kiya` with Bhagyashree released in 1989. The movie was a blockbuster hit. In the 1990s he starred in a series of chartbusters like Sanam Bewafa, Baaghi: A Rebel for Love, Patthar Ke Phool and Saajan. The success of the movies gave Salman a firm footing in the industry. Salman`s association with Director Sooraj Barjatya`s second venture Hum Aapke Hain Kaun in 1994 again turned out to be a smashing hit. It remains one of the highest grossing Indian films ever. He next starred in the hit movie Andaz Apna Apna, alongside co-star Aamir Khan. His pair up with Shahrukh Khan in Rakesh Roshan`s Karan -Arjun gave a further boost to his career. He has also starred in the critically acclaimed movie Khamoshi: The Musical along side Manisha Koirala and in the hit flick Jeet with Karishma Kapoor. In the late 1990s Khan starred in several chartbusters like Judwaa, where he portrayed a dual role, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya with Kajol, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai with Twinkle Khanna, Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United and Biwi No.1. Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai starrer Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999 created waves in India and overseas. He also extended a supporting role in the Karan Johar blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in the lead. In the last decade Salman acted in many more hit movies. In 2000 he starred in Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke with Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee. In 2003 he acted in Tere Naam which was a major earner and Salman`s performance was critically acclaimed. His next venture in two chartbuster comedy movies, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and No Entry (2005) proved his flair for comedy. After his other few releases such as Baabul, Salaam- E- Ishq and Partner, he first appeared in a Hollywood flick Marigold: An Adventure in India opposite American actress Ali. After a series of flops Salman emerged in Prabhu Deva`s action flick Wanted. The movie was a smashing hit but his other two movies in the same year, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna and London Dreams did not fair well. In 2010 Salman was seen in his brother Arbaaz Khan`s production, Dabangg opposite the newcomer Sonakshi Sinha. The movie was not only a run away hit but also created records at the box office. Apart from movies Salman has also remained a host of the Reality show, 10 Ka Dum. He has also hosted the popular reality show, Bigg Boss Season 4.
