Pawan Kalyan Introduction


Pawan Kalyan (born September 2, 1962) He is an indian actor and film director.He is fondly called 'Power Star' by his fans. His birth name is Konidala Kalyan. He starred in many top films and became one of the top celebrities in India, perhaps the most notable of these being the hugely successful of his five films (Suswagatham, Tholi Prema, Thammudu, Badri, Khushi). He is the younger brother of popular Telugu actor, Chiranjeevi and producer Naga Babu.

Film Career

He was born in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh, India to Sri Venkat Rao and Smt Anjana Devi. Pavan Kalyan entered Telugu movie industry with "Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi" as Kalyan Babu. Though this film did well at the box office, Pawan Kalyan was noticed for his expertise in Martial Arts.

For showing his martial arts talent in movie Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi Andhra Pradesh's Ex-Chief minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu entitled him the name 'Pavan' by which he became popular in the Telugu film industry. Pavan's second movie Gokulamlo Sita did good business at box-office and his next movie Suswagatham was completed 220 days in 15 centers. He tasted his first golden jubliee with Tholi Prema (1998), which set standards in the industry and became a paradigm for youth oriented films. The movie marked a milestone Pavan's career and he was recognised by the audiences. His next two flicks Thammudu and Badri were a blockbusters. Kushi (2001), broke box office records as it went on to gross 20 crores.

Pavan made his first official directional debut with Johnny, for which he travelled to Japan to get trained in martial art Aikido. Renu Desai and himself cast as lead actors, the film was a disaster at the boxoffice. Gudumba Shankar (2004), for which Pawan contributed screenplay and other artistic skills was seen as a good family entertainer despite not living up to the box office expectations. Balu (2005) by Vyjayanthi Films didn't fare well either. His next movie Bangaram failed too. Annavaram (2006) fared better than his previous two.

Jalsa (2008), is the most widely released south Indian picture ever (approximately 1000 theatres worldwide). Jalsa also completed 50 days in 282 centres and celebrated 100 days in 25 centers . Currently he is working in a film named Pulli,music of this film is given by the oscar award winner A.R.rehman.

Politics

Pawan Kalyan is involved in the State politics of Andhra Pradesh. He is campaigning for the Praja Rajyam Party, which is led by his own brother Chiranjeevi. He was appointed as the president of Yuva Rajyam, the youth wing of Praja Rajyam.

Social Work

Pawan Kalyan has started an organization called Common Man Protection Force(CMPF) in October 2007. He has contributed 1 crore INR towards the corpus fund, CMPF aims to solve the social problems, help the neglected sections of the society, in India. He makes sure that all this films have a message for the viewers, making them aware of the problems in the society and quest towards the solutions. He is a person who always questions his motives constantly.

Personal life

Pawan Kalyan was first married to Nandini, whom he divorced on 13 August 2008 [5]. On 28 January 2009 married Renu Desai. Renu was the female lead in his films Badri, Johnny. The couple have a son named Akira Nandan before their marriage, and named after his favourite martial arts director Akira Kurosawa.
